Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms before ordering. By purchasing from Grazing Theory you agree to them. Last updated October 14, 2026.
Orders
Returns
Due to the fresh and organic nature of our produce, returns of perishable goods cannot be accepted. Should there be an incorrect or faulty item in your delivery we must be informed within 1 hour of the product being received in order to offer replacements. Images of defective or incorrect items will be required.
Cancelling a Website Order
48 hours or more before pickup or delivery: a Grazing Theory credit valid for six months (non-transferable, no cash value, subject to availability and current pricing, expires six months from issue). Less than 48 hours: non-refundable and not eligible for credit.
Missed Pickups
Made-to-order, perishable products that aren't picked up aren't eligible for a refund or a complimentary remake.
Event, Workshop and Catering Bookings
A 50% non-refundable retainer reserves an event date. The balance is due 10 days before the event; an event that isn't paid in full by then is cancelled for non-payment. 31+ days before: the 50% retainer stays non-refundable; amounts paid beyond it may be refunded, less non-recoverable expenses already incurred. 11–30 days before: the retainer stays non-refundable; amounts paid beyond it become a Grazing Theory credit valid for six months (non-transferable, no cash value, subject to availability and current pricing). 10 days or less: 100% non-refundable.
An event may be rescheduled once with at least 30 days' notice, subject to availability. The retainer may move to the new date, and the event is at current pricing. Requests with less than 30 days' notice are reviewed individually by Gina and aren't guaranteed.
Order and Delivery Changes
Changes to a website order (items, date, time or delivery details) can be requested 48 hours or more before pickup or delivery, subject to availability. Less than 48 hours before, we can't make changes.
Pickup, Delivery and Gifts
Orders are picked up during our posted pickup hours; we don't offer after-hours pickup.
Standard deliveries arrive in our normal delivery window. For a specific time, request Priority Delivery: your standard delivery fee plus $25 (up to 35 miles from the shop). Over 35 miles (up to 70), it's the drive price plus $50.
Gift deliveries are welcome. The purchaser gives the recipient's name, delivery address and a valid phone number, and confirms the recipient will be available. We text the recipient when the delivery is on its way. Once delivered in the scheduled window, Grazing Theory is no longer responsible for the order. If the recipient tells our driver not to deliver because they're unavailable, the order returns to our kitchen and becomes pickup-only during regular business hours.
If no one answers when our driver arrives, we call and wait up to 5 minutes. If we still can't hand the order over, it comes back to our kitchen to keep the food safe, and you can pick it up there during business hours.
Holiday ordering deadlines, availability and pickup/delivery windows are set each season. Published holiday policies override the standard ordering policies.
Food and Products
Seasonal Produce and Supplier Availability
As our produce and garnishes are sourced weekly and can be seasonal, they are subject to availability and substitutions. Although the majority of our menus are fixed, there may be changes season to season. We may also face supplier issues at times, and so cannot guarantee each and every product, such as figs, edible flowers and honeycomb. We will always use an alternative or use more of another product to compensate. Please refer to our menus on the website as a guide to what you can expect.
Food Handling
When products are received please keep chilled and consume that same day. It is the responsibility of the customer to dispose of the food if kept unrefrigerated beyond 4 hours, to comply with US food standards. By agreeing to our terms and conditions the client is agreeing to dispose of any food after this set time. Grazing Theory will not be held responsible for any adverse reactions to our food consumed after this time.
Dietary Requirements and Allergies
We’re happy to accommodate dietary preferences and allergy requests whenever possible. Please include any dietary requirements or food allergies in the form at checkout.
Our kitchen is not an allergen-free facility. While we take care when preparing your order, our products are prepared in a shared kitchen and we cannot guarantee against allergen cross-contact.
Using Our Website
Prices and Fees
Prices are in US dollars. A 4% service fee is added to the subtotal plus delivery on every online order, to cover card processing; it's shown as its own line before you pay. Delivery fees are worked out from your address (and, for Priority Delivery more than 35 miles away, from the drive at that day and time) and shown at checkout. The total on the payment screen is the amount charged.
Photos and Descriptions
All pictures are examples only and are subject to change based on seasonality. Each item's page lists what's included.
Board and Stand Rentals
Some boards and display stands are rented with a refundable deposit, shown on the item and at checkout with its return window. Return them on time to get the deposit back. Boards and stands that aren't returned within the return window are the customer's to keep, and the deposit isn't refunded.
Event Service Charge and Gratuity
An 18% service charge applies to wedding cocktail hours, public and private workshops, and special events (for example, catering a golf tournament; it's on the custom invoice). It supports the planning and administrative work behind them (venue coordination, certificates of insurance, communication, sourcing, customization, production planning). It is not a gratuity. Simple setups (for example a lunch or a getting-ready delivery) and website orders don't have it. Travel/delivery, setup, strike, onsite staffing, rentals and other physical, event-specific services are separate charges.
A 4% credit-card processing fee applies to every card transaction: website orders, events, workshops and weddings. It is separate from the 18% event service charge. Gratuity is always optional, on website orders and on events, workshops and weddings, and 100% of it goes directly to our Grazing Gals, the team behind every board. The 18% service charge is not gratuity.
On the Event Day
Tables and linens aren't provided unless the proposal includes them. The client or venue has the tables, linens and setup area completely ready before we arrive; if we can't start, the grace period and waiting fee apply.
A 15-minute complimentary grace period if a client or venue delay stops setup from starting on time. After that, waiting time is $50 per staff member per hour, billed in 30-minute increments ($25 per staff member per extra 30 minutes).
The client or venue provides a suitable place for food service. We may relocate or modify a display when sun, heat, rain, wind or other conditions could compromise food safety, presentation or equipment. A weather-related relocation or change isn't a cancellation.
Safe leftovers may be released to the client or venue when food-safe containers and refrigeration are available. Once we leave, storage, handling and eating them is the client's or venue's responsibility. Food past its safe service time is discarded. Leftovers are never guaranteed in advance.
An event can have one proposal and one retainer, but travel/delivery, setup, strike and other service charges apply to each separate trip or service, even at the same venue on the same day.
Event Tickets
Event and workshop tickets bought on our website are website orders, so the website order cancellation policy above applies.
Weddings and Events Booked Online
Weddings and events are booked under our Wedding & Event Catering Agreement, which you accept when you book. The highlights:
- Booking takes a 50% non-refundable retainer, which reserves your date.
- An 18% event service charge applies (planning, coordination and event administration; it is not a gratuity). Travel/delivery, setup, strike, onsite staffing and rentals are separate charges, per trip or service. A 4% card processing fee applies to card payments. Gratuity is optional.
- A Little Love for Our Grazing Gals! Every beautiful board is thoughtfully created by our talented Grazing Gals! 100% of gratuities added to your order go directly to our Grazing Gals, the hardworking hands behind every delicious creation. Your generosity is always appreciated, but never expected. Thank you for supporting the team that makes the Grazing Theory magic happen!
- Your final guaranteed guest count and the balance are due 10 days before the event; an event that isn't paid in full by then is cancelled for non-payment. You may lower the count by up to 20% (the minimum billable count is 80% of the contracted count); a lower count doesn't automatically change your package or tier. Increases after the deadline depend on availability and are paid before the event.
- Cancelling 31+ days before: the retainer is non-refundable; anything paid beyond it may be refunded, less non-recoverable expenses. 11–30 days before: the retainer is non-refundable; anything paid beyond it becomes a credit valid for six months (non-transferable, no cash value). 10 days or less: 100% non-refundable.
- You may reschedule once with at least 30 days' notice, subject to availability; your retainer may move to the new date, at current pricing. Requests with less than 30 days' notice are reviewed individually and aren't guaranteed.
- Rental boards and equipment come back to our kitchen within 48 hours (the deposit is waived when we collect the same night). Late, lost or not returned: the deposit is forfeited; damage may be deducted from it.
- Tables, linens and the setup area must be ready before we arrive, and you coordinate venue access, loading and parking (parking, valet or venue access fees not in your proposal may be charged to you). After a 15-minute grace period, waiting time is $50 per staff member per hour, in 30-minute increments.
- The client or venue provides a suitable place for food service. We may move or adjust a display for sun, heat, rain or wind; that isn't a cancellation.
- Safe leftovers may be left with you when food-safe containers and refrigeration are available; after we leave they're your responsibility. Leftovers aren't guaranteed.
- Ingredients may vary with the season; comparable premium substitutions may be made.
- We can't guarantee an allergen-free environment or zero cross-contact.
- Changes to your date, time, venue, guest count, menu or services are subject to availability and may change your price.
- If we ever have to cancel, everything you've paid is refunded in full. If an event can't go ahead for reasons beyond anyone's control (severe weather, disaster, evacuation, venue closure), you receive a credit toward one rescheduled event within 12 months, less non-recoverable expenses.
- These are highlights. Your booking is under our full Wedding & Event Catering Agreement (2026), which you accept when you book.
